Dan Wegrzyn
Senior Pastor

Dan Wegrzyn has been Senior Pastor at St. John’s since 2003. Pastor Dan grew up in Lombard and attended St. John’s during his childhood. After receiving his Bachelor’s of Education from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois and Master’s of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, he served as pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church & School in Parma, Ohio for fourteen years before coming to St. John’s. He is passionate about learning, writing, preaching/teaching, alleviating suffering, and is constantly striving to become a better leader and Christ follower. He recently earned his Doctor of Ministry, with a focus in Preaching and Congregational Leadership, from Northern Seminary. He enjoys participating in fitness activities in his spare time, and lives in Lombard with his wife Kim and their three sons.

Pete Imlah

Associate Pastor Pete Imlah has served at St. John’s since 2011. He was ordained as minister and installed at St. John’s on June 8, 2014. Prior to that, he served as an SMP (Specific Ministry Pastor – Family Life Ministry) Vicar at St. John’s.  Pastor Pete was born and raised in Des Plaines, Illinois. He graduated from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois with a Secondary Education Degree in 1988 and completed his seminary program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.  For his first 9 years in ministry, Pastor Pete served as a Lutheran high school teacher and coach in New Orleans and Rockford, Illinois. He then served as a Director of Youth and Family Ministries in Palatine, Illinois; Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Charlotte, Michigan. He has also served as Director of Missions and Outreach for Lutheran Church Charities in Addison, Illinois. Pastor Pete lives in Lombard with his wife Nicole and their three children. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing racquetball and biking.

Pastor Ilten,not pictured, has served as Pastor and in special positions in a multitude of churches since he was ordained in 1960. He is a graduate of Concordia University in Milwaukee and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. As Pastor Emeritus, he continues to bless St. John’s with his leadership and contributions to the Senior Ministry Action Team, nursing home ministry, school mentoring program and many other areas. He is married to Nadine, his wife of over 50 years, with whom he has four daughters, and enjoys being the “Grandpa” to his four granddaughters. He is an avid sports fan, a choir member, and remains active in several Lombard organizations, including as a holiday bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
