Congregational Values

OUR VALUES:

Values are fundamental characteristics valued by the organization that guide its decisions. They answer what is especially important at this congregation.

  • What matters to God is what matters to us — We try not to spend our time on things that God wouldn't consider high priority.
  • Life change is what we seek — Jesus' ministry was about life transformation — either souls being saved or those already saved living for Christ.
  • Christian education is valuable and relevant — School ministry is important to us.
  • Love others into the Kingdom — People are not drawn to Christ because we have a better argument but a better love.
  • Supportive culture instead of judging culture — We are learning the art of graceful disagreement, and striving to be encouraging not judgmental.
  • Member unity — We refuse to live in unresolved conflict and will practice the 'peace of Christ' among us.
  • We are committed to church health — Healthy things grow. Unhealthy relationships stunt growth and repel non-Christians.
  • We want our staff and volunteers to keep a sustainable pace — Time with family is important. Working oneself toward burnout is not a badge of honor. Nor is a few people doing the 'lion's share'.
